We ALL Live in a Yellow Submarine. No Really…

Unless, you’ve been living under a rock since last Fashion Week (Fall 2012), you have to have noticed the overwhelming (not to mention positively Groovy!) dose of psychedelia into Fashion. Between Prada’s bright patterned suits and Louis Vuitton’s mirror encrusted appliques, designers are sending a clear message that this season is no time to dress stale and mundane. The Carpetbagger is totally loving this “more is more” mentality, and can’t wait to indulge in the carousel adorning trend!

The Hourglass Woman

Remember when this (a size 6-8) was the epitome of sexy? Yea me neither. Though recently the more bodacious and curvaceous figure is slowly being well received in Hollywood again (Hello Scarlett Johansson!), I highly doubt we will we ever see such full figured gals walking down the runways. However creating the illusion of the hourglass appears to be on the minds of designers as of late with particular focus on the waist. Can’t say for sure if designers are intending to point out the irony or not, but either way, it’s a rather amusing trend.

The Australian brand was created in 2005 by Anna Plunkett and Luke Sales when they met as fashion design students at East Sydney Technical College. Their exquisitely crafty design aesthetic has earned them a strong cult following as well as several International design awards. The Carpetbagger is more than ready to get in on the fun!
