Mary Katrantzo Shines at London Fashion Week

There are no ifs, ands, or buts about it.  Mary Katrantzo is a Mastermind.  She first shocked us with her magnificent silhouettes and photorealism, showing at London Fashion Week, Fall 2009, and she has let down since.  For Fall 2012, her designs are so beautifully crafted that you simply look in awe.

Mary Katrantzou, Fall 2012

Staying true to her aesthetic since her marvelous debut, Katrantzou continues with her use of real life inspired images printed onto intricately crafted garments.  For fall 2012, she’s given us day to day objects such as hangers and watches, as well as classics like plants and flowers, yet managed to display these images in a completely new way.  It’s as if she’s sees the world in a more fantastical way and we just so happen to be lucky enough to witness her share it.  I applaud her unique brilliance and look forward to more Mary Katrantzo to come.
