The past few seasons, the use of leather seems to have made itself quite comfortable in RTW collections and this Pre-fall 2012 is no exception.
Designers’ ability to take such a severe material and turn into something rather quaint deserves a round of applause in my book!
I’m loving this image of an old book cover designed by Margaret Early.

The publication itself was written by the infamously facetious Dorothy Parker. This here is an image of a sweet poster available at Modcloth.com.
Shot by Steven Meisel, Kati Nescher, Meghan Collison, Natasha Poly, Elise Crombez, Ymre Stiekema and Katryn Kruger are the lucky lasses all dolled up in Prada’s latest campaign.
“The gas station is cast as a central symbol in this post-modern crossroads of new horizons and economic fulfillment, a stage set where fashion, fantasy and the promise of new discoveries collide.” As usual, well done Miuccia.
Ok, so while going over the mini trends popping up for Pre-Fall 2012, one label’s collection proved to be so damn cute, I insist on giving it a special shout out! Moschino Cheap and Chic’s deserves a special round of applause based solely on its absolute preciousness.
I’m seriously dying over the robin’s egg blue leather gloves, not to mention the two tone pink and mustard bodice of that lovely dress. Never have I been so incline to have little animated duckies and forest creatures follow me as I parade around with some serious eyeliner action and ever so charming ensembles.
The label’s of course known for having a bit of since of humor, but they manage to keep it classy and sweet at the same time. The quaint cuteness of this collection has inspired me to dig up some of their greatest hits…
To quote the villianous (and hilarious) Goldmember from Austin Powers, “I love gooooooold!” The metallic yellow element, which symbolizes absolute divineness, is certainly not for the faint of heart. Often way over the top and rather gaudy, the precious metal has the ability to take any hum drum object and make it spectacular… Remember little Charlie Bucket from a little film called “Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory?”
My favorite band the Arctic Monkeys who are quite in touch with their nolstalgic sides (which is part of why they’re my fave) were so inspired by the film’s brilliance, they were so kind to surprise two lucky fans with hidden “golden tickets” in their vinyl versions of the single “Crying Lightning” from Oxfam record stores back in August of 2009 to attend that summer’s “Reading and Leed’s” Festival. What could be more magical than a treasured golden ticket to swoon over these lads?
Now for some of my current golden obsessions!
These bad boys created back in 2007 hold the high price of $4,500. It is unknown if a pair was ever purchased, but damn are they sweet kicks.
For the price of just ten bucks this adorable salt and pepper shaker set can be yours. I bought mine from the artist in Union Square; he’s there at least a few days a week.
The combo of midi skirts and gloves has made its way to the forefront for Pre-fall 2012. Weather pencil skirt, a simple shift dress, or a classic coat, the proportion has paired up with the timeless accessory that keeps your paws warm and the outcome is as prim and proper as ever.
